Step by Step guide to a perfect manicure

  • Start by trimming the nail with a nail clipper and shape it by using a nail file.

  • Always file from the outside of your nail to the centre and make sure that you always go in the same direction. Leave the corner of the nails lightly rounded to avoid nail cracking.

  • Wash your hands in warm soapy water or try Pampering Manicure Spa by Yes to Carrots (R149) for a professional finish.

  • After drying your hands, use a hand cream or try Risqué Cuticle Remover (R60) on all your nails.

  • Gently push your cuticles back with a spatula and remove excess cuticles with cuticle pliers. Never remove the cuticles completely.

  • With the nail buffer, make up and down movements on the surface of the nail. The buffing leaves a smooth surface so that the nail polish spreads evenly.

  • Apply a base coat.

  • Choose your favourite nail polish colour and apply a well-distributed fine layer. It should start from the centre and go to the outside.

  • Carefully remove the nail polish leftovers using an ear bud drenched in nail polish remover.

  • Apply a top coat for extra protection and to reduce chipping.
